We are a professional family of actors who have spent years proving that English is not something you simply teach, it is something you experience. We set out to turn it from a subject that makes students yawn into something they actually look forward to, like break time or dessert.
From the age of three through to adults, everyone ends up taking part, laughing and speaking in English without even realising it. And we are not the ones saying that. Teachers, students and even the school caretaker usually end up applauding. But as the saying goes, it is better to see it with your own eyes than hear about it from someone else.

We never stop learning. Not in rehearsals, not in schools and not when a student asks if “that’s real English”. What we do is observe, adapt and keep playing with the language as if it were brand new every time.
We do not use humour as decoration. We use it because it works. It is the infallible trick. If they laugh, they are already paying attention, even if they do
not realise it. What’s more, when they laugh they learn English much
better than simply memorising it.
We are not teachers doing theatre. We are actors doing theatre, but determined to make everything work. There are no Broadway lights here, but there are plenty of laughs, attention and an audience that reminds us why art can also teach English.
We could say it was a brilliant idea. In reality it was probably a mixture of stubbornness, talent and far too much coffee. That is how the first Moving On shows were born, with more enthusiasm than stage lights and thanks to these two.
Actor, singer, composer and director. He graduated from the University of Birmingham and has spent more than three decades on stage.
He is responsible for much of our writing, almost all of our songs and most of the terrible jokes, although some of them work surprisingly well. If something needs improvising, Steve has probably already planned it.
She graduated in Drama and Spanish from the University of Sussex, although her relationship with the stage began much earlier, probably in her living room at home.
She is an actress, singer, English teacher and tour manager, or as we say here, the one who makes everything work when the van refuses to start. Her energy on stage even gets the shyest students involved.
Actor, English teacher and master of the phrase “Can I go to the toilet?” with a perfect accent. He graduated in Drama from Liverpool John Moores University and has been part of the permanent Moving On cast since 2012.He has travelled across Spain making even the shyest students stand up and join in. His formula is simple: British energy, theatrical humour and absolutely no PowerPoints.
A touring companion for several years and now increasingly involved in the family business.
A DJ mixing desk is one of her favourite toys, she dances tirelessly and these days it does not rain when she sings.
All signs that she will soon be adding her own energy and creativity to the stage with us.
